Port Qasim Signs Agreement with NRTC to Deploy Advanced Vessel Traffic Management System

Port Qasim Authority (PQA) has signed a contract with National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) to install a state-of-the-art Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS), reinforcing maritime safety, surveillance and operational efficiency at Port Qasim.

Under the agreement, NRTC will implement a modern VTMS featuring long-range high-definition cameras, upgraded VTMS towers and advanced radar systems capable of detecting small vessels at significant distances. The system will also integrate video and voice recording capabilities, along with real-time weather and tide monitoring, to strengthen navigational safety and enhance overall maritime security within the port’s jurisdiction.
