Three Fishermen Drown After Fishing Launch Capsizes Near Gadani

Three fishermen drowned after a fishing launch struck rocks and capsized in the sea near Kundan Lani Goth, close to Gadani in Hub, in a maritime accident that left six people in the water. Three others were rescued following the incident.

The launch overturned after colliding with rocks, throwing all six people into the sea. A maritime search and rescue operation was subsequently launched to locate those who remained missing.

Rescue teams recovered the bodies of the three missing fishermen from the sea. The victims were identified as Sher Muhammad, Aamir and Salaam.

Police officials said the accident occurred a day earlier. One fisherman’s body was recovered on the same day, while the bodies of the two remaining missing fishermen were recovered during the search operation the following day.

The incident occurred in waters near Gadani, an important coastal area of Balochistan, where fishing activity forms part of the livelihoods of local communities.

The Edhi Foundation, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency are among the organizations involved in maritime search and rescue and emergency response operations along Pakistan’s coastline.

The accident has left three fishermen dead, while three others survived after the fishing launch overturned near the rocky coastal area.
