Migrant Boat Sinks off Greek Coast, Woman and Child Dead, Three Missing

Athens — A migrant boat carrying more than 50 people sank off the Greek coast near the island of Ikaria in the northern Aegean Sea, leaving a woman and a young boy dead and three others missing, Greek coastguard authorities confirmed on Sunday.
According to officials, at least 50 migrants were rescued from the sea and are now receiving care from local authorities. Search and rescue operations remain underway, with coastguard vessels deployed to the area and additional rescue teams and divers expected to join efforts later in the day.

Zodiac Maritime’s Horten Rescues Solo Rower Amid Rough Atlantic Seas

A dramatic rescue at sea saw a Belgian solo rower saved by the crew of the Zodiac Maritime tanker Horten after his vessel, City of Liverpool, capsized in the Atlantic Ocean east of Puerto Rico.
The 47-year-old rower, Benoit Bourguet, was competing in the World’s Toughest Row Race when two rogue waves struck his boat, overturning it in 13 to 15-foot seas and forcing him to board his life raft. Bourguet reportedly spent around 24 hours in distress before being rescued, suffering from dehydration but otherwise in good health.
