Mawani Boosts Investment in Logistics Centers

The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has signed a contract with Q Saudi to build and operate a complete logistics center at Yanbu Commercial port. An investment worth more than SAR 29 million, the project will be implemented on a 120,490 square metres area to improve the efficiency of logistics and improve the cargo-handling capacity in the western coast of Saudi Arabia.

The facility will also present cargo storage and redistribution services which will be assisting in the operations of Yanbu Commercial Port, which consists of 12 berths and annual handling capacity of over 13.5 million tonnes.

In another project, Mawani has also concluded a SAR 200 million deal with Arabian Agricultural Services Company (ARASCO) to construct storage and distribution logistics centre at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. The project, which covers 40,000 square metres, will be a huge investment to enhance agricultural logistics infrastructure within the port.

The port will be developed to increase its capacity of unloading and storage of grains by building the warehouses with capacity of up to 100,000 tonnes. It also has an inbuilt truck loading facility, new conveyor systems and ship unloading equipment that connects berths 37 and 39, which will enhance the overall efficiency of operations.
