Asia Pacific Maritime 2026 Returns to Singapore Showcasing Next-Generation Energy and Decarbonisation Technologies for Shipping
Asia Pacific Maritime (APM), Asia’s leading exhibition and conference for shipbuilding, workboats, offshore operations, and electric and hybrid marine technologies, will return for its 19th edition from 25-27 March 2026 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, featuring its largest event to date. Organised by RX and themed “Future of Vessels, Solutions for Tomorrow,” APM 2026 aims to bring together global maritime leaders to explore how next-generation energy technologies and innovations are shaping the future of shipping.
As the maritime sector faces intensifying decarbonisation targets and accelerated digital innovation, energy is becoming the driving force behind industry transformation. This includes newbuild specifications, fuel strategies, operational optimisation, and capital investment to support sustainable shipping practices. The event will open with a welcome address by Ang Wee Keong, Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), and will showcase over 700 exhibitors across 18 pavilions in six exhibition halls. Solutions on display will focus on alternative fuels, electric and hybrid technologies, wind-assisted propulsion, and innovations influencing maritime decarbonisation.
The conference will host nearly 100 international speakers addressing topics such as future fuels and zero-emission ships, next-generation shipbuilding, electric and hybrid power, finance and risk management for modern fleets, maritime cybersecurity, and smart and autonomous vessels. Leading industrial equipment manufacturer Weichai highlighted the importance of APM as a platform to accelerate growth across the Asia-Pacific region, marking its tenth appearance in 2026 and promising its most ambitious showcase to date. The company will also celebrate the successful completion of a 1,000-hour sea trial of Pinnacle Marine’s President 100, the first vessel powered entirely by renewable biodiesel (B100 engines) in partnership with Prestige Ocean Pte Ltd, NTU’s Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development Centre of Excellence (MESD), and the China Classification Society Singapore.
Electrification continues to gain momentum as a key pathway to reducing emissions at sea. Battery systems enable shipowners to improve efficiency without compromising operational reliability. Jan-Erik Räsänen, Chief Technology Officer at Foreship, part of RINA, emphasised that flexible power plants combining traditional engines with battery support allow vessels to achieve greater fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions, while future-proofing designs from the new-build stage. Leading providers such as AYK Energy, CALB, Eve Energy, MT Power, Roypow, and Shenzhen Racern Technology will present cutting-edge electric and battery technologies.
APM 2026 also introduces the Electric & Hybrid Consultation Lounge, providing a platform for industry experts from the Maritime Battery Forum, CharIN, International Electric Maritime Association (IEMA), and Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) to offer guidance on high-power e-mobility charging, maritime battery systems, next-generation electric marine technologies, and zero-emission shipping. Wind propulsion will also be highlighted as a viable decarbonisation strategy, with exhibitors such as Chantiers de l’Atlantique, CWS Morel, Dealfeng New Energy Technology, Econowind BV, and Norsepower Oy Ltd showcasing solutions. Industry data from Clarksons indicates 89 vessels with wind propulsion systems were operational by December 2025, with up to 130 more under construction for delivery by 2028.
Visitors can also engage with prominent exhibitors advancing alternative fuels, sustainable engine solutions, and operational efficiency technologies, including Advanced Polymer Coatings, DAIHATSU INFINEARTH, International Paint, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine System Asia, Nippon Paint Marine, PPG Coatings, Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte Ltd (MTU), Siemens Energy, VINSSEN, Volvo Group, Yanmar Power Solutions, and ZF Friedrichshafen AG. The three-day conference will explore practical applications of innovative vessel concepts, focusing on converting ambition into measurable outcomes for decarbonisation, digitalisation, and evolving trade flows in Asia. Keynote sessions such as “The Maritime State of Play & What’s Next for Asia” will offer insight into strategic technology investments, fuel innovations, and the region’s role in global maritime standards. Joey Chua, Vice-Chair of the Digitalisation Committee at the Singapore Shipping Association, noted that the adoption of digital tools is essential across the maritime ecosystem to build capabilities and achieve commercially viable progress.
Asia Pacific Maritime has been the pre-eminent platform for 35 years where solution providers showcase the latest maritime technologies to shipowners, shipyards, and decision-makers, facilitating strategic collaborations that shape the “Future of Vessels, Solutions for Tomorrow.” Organised by RX, a global events company and part of RELX, APM continues to connect the maritime industry with critical technologies and innovations across Asia.
