China and South Korea Conduct Joint Patrol Against Illegal Fishing

China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have conducted a joint maritime law enforcement patrol in the provisional measures zone under the China-ROK Fishery Agreement, strengthening cooperation on illegal fishing prevention, fisheries management, and marine resource conservation in the Yellow Sea.

According to a statement issued by the China Coast Guard (CCG) on Saturday, a joint team comprising one Chinese coast guard vessel and one South Korean fisheries guidance vessel patrolled more than 1,200 nautical miles over 210 hours, from October 8 to 17. The operation highlights the importance of coordinated maritime enforcement in monitoring fishing activities, improving regulatory compliance, and protecting marine fishery resources.
