Ishaq Dar’s London Visit Puts Pakistan-UK Relations and Maritime Security in Focus
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in London on Sunday for a five-day official visit to the United Kingdom, scheduled from August 24 to 28.
Pakistan-UK relations, regional maritime security and broader international issues are among the key areas of discussion during the visit. Dar is scheduled to meet British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and FCDO Minister of State for Pakistan Stephen Doughty, along with other senior UK Government officials.
The meetings will focus on matters of mutual interest, bilateral cooperation and issues affecting the wider regional and international environment.
Maritime Security on the Diplomatic Agenda
Regional maritime security will feature prominently in Dar’s meeting with International Maritime Organization Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez.

Dar will also meet Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey as part of his engagements in London, according to media reports.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK Tipu Usman received the Deputy Prime Minister at London Heathrow Airport following his arrival.
The London visit brings together Pakistan’s bilateral engagement with the UK and its wider diplomatic discussions on maritime and international affairs.
