Marine Soil Investigation Works to Begin at Singapore LNG Tertiary Jetty from 17 August
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has issued a marine safety advisory for soil investigation works at the Singapore LNG (SLNG) Tertiary Jetty, with activities scheduled from 17 August 2026 to 17 February 2027. The advisory applies to mariners operating in the vicinity of the SLNG Terminal Basin and covers shipping, harbour craft, and pleasure craft communities.
The marine soil investigation works will take place within a designated working area at sea, bounded by the coordinates provided by MPA under the WGS 84 datum. The listed coordinates are BH1: 01°13.58’N, 103°40.22’E and BH2: 01°13.56’N, 100°40.24’E. Work will be conducted for 12 hours daily, from 0700h to 1900h, including Sundays and public holidays.
A number of harbour and support craft will be involved in the operation. These include the tug boats KM1 (ST 0797E), KM38 (ST 0761D), KM OSCAR (ST 0698H), SK6 (ST 0569G), the passenger and safety boats KM ECHO (SC 8998FD), SC6668D, KM HOTEL (SC 6868G), and the jack-up barge SIPL 5 (SR 2732D). The listed craft will display the appropriate local and international day and night signals while operating in the work area.
According to the MPA advisory, one jack-up barge will be deployed with assistance from tugboat(s). Rotary drilling equipment will also be operated as part of the marine soil investigation works. Mariners navigating near the designated working area are therefore advised to keep well clear and not enter the working area, maintain a proper lookout, proceed at a safe speed, and navigate with caution.

Mariners are also reminded to maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control) and communicate with Jurong Control for assistance if required. The safety measures are intended to support safe navigation and minimize the risk of interference between marine traffic and the investigation operations.
The MPA advisory highlights the importance of maintaining caution around the SLNG Terminal Basin throughout the six-month work period. Vessel operators and other marine users in the vicinity should remain alert to the presence of the jack-up barge, tugboats, passenger boats, and associated marine investigation equipment during the stated working hours.
