Monaco Yachting Industry Revenue Reaches €659.7 Million in 2025

Monaco’s yachting industry generated €659.7 million in revenue in 2025, marking a 16.3% increase since 2022 as yacht brokerage and specialised maritime services strengthened the Principality’s high-value marine economy. The latest figures highlight the growing commercial importance of the superyacht market, which supports yacht sales, technical consultancy and a broad network of professional businesses.

According to the Monegasque Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (IMSEE), yachting turnover increased by €92.6 million between 2022 and 2025, significantly outperforming the Principality’s overall economy, where turnover grew by 3.6%. The sector also expanded to 475 establishments, an increase of 64 businesses over three years, underlining its growing role in Monaco’s maritime business landscape.

Yacht Brokerage Drives More Than Half of Industry Revenue

Yacht brokerage was the leading revenue generator, with businesses involved in yacht sales recording €343.1 million in turnover in 2025. This represented more than half of the yachting industry’s total revenue, highlighting the importance of high-value vessel transactions to Monaco’s marine business sector.

The wider wholesale trade category generated €361 million, reflecting the contribution of activities beyond yacht brokerage alone.

Specialist professional services also recorded strong growth. Businesses in scientific, technical and related professional activities, including yacht design, engineering and consultancy, generated €73.8 million in revenue. These activities demonstrate the importance of technical expertise and professional support alongside yacht sales and charter operations.

Superyacht Industry Supports Nearly 1,500 Jobs

Monaco’s yachting industry employed 1,495 people at the end of 2025, an increase of 4.6% compared with 2022. Wholesale trade was the largest employment category, accounting for 527 positions, followed by recreational activities and transport services.

However, the sector remains dominated by small businesses and independent operators. Almost 70% of yachting establishments had no salaried employees, illustrating how the industry combines high-value commercial transactions with a large network of small specialist enterprises.

Monaco’s Wider Maritime Economy Generates €1.7 Billion

Beyond yachting, Monaco’s wider maritime economy comprised 734 establishments and employed 3,316 people in 2025. The sector generated approximately €1.7 billion in turnover, reflecting the contribution of maritime activities beyond the yacht market.

Despite this substantial revenue, overall maritime turnover declined by 7.3% compared with 2022. IMSEE attributed the decrease to the performance of a single wholesale business, meaning the overall decline should not automatically be interpreted as a contraction across every maritime subsector.

Yachting accounted for almost 40% of the wider maritime economy’s turnover and approximately 45% of its employment, reinforcing its importance to Monaco’s maritime business ecosystem.

Industry Outlook: Yacht Sales and Technical Services Shape Growth

The latest figures show that Monaco’s yachting industry is expanding faster than the Principality’s overall economy. Growth in yacht brokerage, alongside revenue from scientific and technical services, highlights the importance of both vessel transactions and the professional expertise supporting the international superyacht market.

At the same time, the wider maritime economy’s decline in turnover illustrates why sector-wide figures must be considered alongside individual business categories. The performance of one major wholesale operator influenced the overall result, while yachting recorded substantial growth over the same period.
