Qatar Fully Restores Maritime Navigation Operations, Ensures Safe Shipping Activities Across Waters
Qatar has announced the full resumption of maritime navigation activities for all types of vessels and ships from Sunday, July 26, 2026, restoring normal maritime operations across the country’s territorial waters. The move marks the complete reopening of shipping routes, vessel movements, and maritime transport activities following the temporary restrictions.
According to the Qatar Ministry of Transport (MoT), all maritime traffic is now permitted to operate normally, allowing commercial vessels, cargo ships, and other maritime craft to resume their operations under established regulatory frameworks. The restoration is expected to support Qatar’s maritime logistics sector, port operations, shipping connectivity, and regional marine transportation activities.
The Ministry of Transport has directed vessel operators, ship owners, and seafarers to strictly follow all applicable maritime safety regulations, navigation guidelines, and operational instructions to ensure secure and efficient vessel movement.
The MoT further highlighted that all vessels must be equipped with required safety and security equipment and ensure that these systems remain fully operational before departure and throughout each voyage. Compliance with international maritime safety standards, the ministry stated, is essential for maintaining safe navigation and protecting maritime infrastructure and personnel.
